According to the Guidance Directorate, two Israeli gunboats raided the aforementioned sea point on different days this week during a two hours time and at a maximum distance of 315 meters from the coast.
Israel’s infractions are monitored by the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL), established in Lebanon since 1978 to maintain peace, stability and security on the border line between Lebanon and occupied Palestine.
On last November 14th, in a tripartite meeting at the UNIFIL headquarters, Lebanon demanded that the United Nations exert maximum pressure on Israel so as to stop its hostile practices, including violations by sea, land and air.
Despite the expulsion from Lebanon in May 2000, Tel Aviv still holds the lands of the Shebaa farms and the Kafar Chuba hills, as well as the northern part of the Ghajar area.
Both countries have been in a situation of war since the establishment of the State of Israel in occupied Palestinian lands; many crimes and attacks throughout these years remain in the memory of the lebanese people who are facing Tel Aviv’s ambitions to seize the water of the Litani river and the country’s oil and gas.
