During the second meeting of the Supreme Space Council of the current government, Raisi expressed his satisfaction for the progress achieved in this sphere and for being among the countries with an advanced space industry at a global level.
After assessing the formulation of Iran’s 10-year vision of its space industry, the president underlined the synergy of the country’s capabilities in that field, as well as taking advantage of all favorable conditions to boost the space sector.
Raisi considered this sphere one of the driving zones for the country and of great investment, because its full implementation should increase the power of other industries and the development of various sciences at a national level.
He recalled that Iran is one of the few states that have developed the necessary technology to send ships into space.
The head of government explained that by obtaining the scientific capability to establish a domestically manufactured satellite in geo-orbit, Iran have frustrated the enemies’ threats and sanctions in the field of TV channel and satellite transmission.
The Islamic Republic is one of 11 nations in the world capable of designing, manufacturing and launching satellites into space, despite being the target of unilateral economic sanctions imposed by the United States. It is also the only active country in the region in creating satellite launchers.
