The Union made a statement calling on the international community to stop its shameful silence and take the necessary measures to halt the desecration actions of the Israeli authorities against Muslim and Christian holy places in the holy city.
“We are astonished by this silence and inaction regarding what is happening, even many countries that demand freedom and respect for human rights are accomplices,” the statement said.
“Tel Aviv persists in its violations of sanctuaries which constitutes an insult to the feelings of Muslims and Christians and their beliefs and sanctities,” the statement concluded.
Both settlers and Israeli soldiers raid the al-Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis, in what are provocations against Palestinian feelings, while the new Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, visited the holy site last Tuesday, sparking a wave of protests across the region.
