“It´s not a good look. It’s not a good thing. This is the United States of America. And I hope they (Republicans) get their act together,” Biden told reporters as he left the White House to hold an infrastructure event in Kentucky.
According to Biden, Republicans´ struggle is not my problem”, while regretting: How do you think it looks to the rest of the world?”
The House is set to resume voting for a speaker at noon today after a minority of conservative holdouts denied Representative Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, the majority needed to be elected speaker after three rounds of voting.
On Tuesday, a handful of Republicans blocked Kevin McCarthy’s bid for speaker during three straight votes for the gavel, with McCarthy only losing support as the day wore on.
McCarthy did not reach the 218 votes needed to be elected, despite the fact that GOPers held majority of 222 seats, won after the Nov. 8 midterm elections.
Amid this dilemma, Trump called for House Republicans to back McCarthy and urged not to turn “a great triumph into a giant, embarrassing defeat,” as he posted on Twitter.
