During the day, 19 medical discharges were granted and the total number of recovered is one million 103 thousand 389, and since the start of the pandemic, in March 2020, one million 112 thousand 67 cases were reported, while the total number of deaths remains the same, at eight thousand 530.
This favorable epidemiological result is the result of the staggered vaccination campaign against Covid-19 with the Cuban immunogens Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.
In this sense, the Cuban health authorities seek to maintain control of infections by Covid-19, for which they will apply reinforcement doses to the population at risk and people over 70 years of age.
“A new booster dose of our vaccines will be applied in Cuba to the population at risk and to people over 70 years of age, if six months have elapsed since the last application,” reported the Cuban Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) on the social network Twitter.
In addition, the institution pointed out in another message, a booster dose will be administered to pregnant women who are in their last trimester of pregnancy.
“A booster dose with our Cuban vaccines will be applied to pregnant women in the last trimester of pregnancy who received their last vaccine six months before, as well as to women who are still breastfeeding their babies.
