The film “Oscuros Amores” (Love in the Dark), directed by Gerardo Chijona, is on the billboard at the Yara and Charles Chaplin movie theaters, the Alfredo Guevara Hall at the San Gerónimo College, and the Glauber Rocha Hall at the New Latin American Cinema Foundation, the institution’s programming specialists stated.
The motion picture tells three stories of love and death that take place on a Havana night. The cast includes Isabel Santos, Osvaldo Doimeadios, Luis Alberto García, Enrique Molina, Yeni Soria, Vladimir Cruz, Carlos Enrique Almirante, Yailin Copola, Mario Guerra, Yailene Sierra, and a performance by director Juan Carlos Tabío.
Also on the agenda is a film tribute to heroine Haydée Santamaría with the screening of several Noticieros ICAIC Latinoamericano (Latin American ICAIC Newsreels), in which she was present and an interview by National Film Award winner Manuel Herrera.
The documentary “Contra el Tiempo” (Against Time) by filmmaker Rolando Almirante, and the animated feature film “La Súper” (The Super) by Ernesto Piña, which will begin its national tour after its screening at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, are also among the new films.
The Cinemateque of Cuba proposes an approach to the work of 2007 National Film Award winner Daisy Granados with the cycle “Retratos de Daisy” (Portraits of Daisy) on the 23 y 12 movie theater.
