Cuba reports 21 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Havana, Dec 31 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Saturday reported 21 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours, and a total of 102 patients with the disease nationwide.

According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 29 patients were discharged, so the total number of recovered patients rose to 1,103,302.

Cuba has accumulated 1,111,993 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020.

The MINSAP report added that the death toll remains at 8,530.

Health authorities reported that one seriously ill patient is being treated at an intensive care unit.

This favorable epidemiological outcome is the result of the staggered vaccination campaign against Covid-19 as MINSAP reported that 42,712,334 doses of Cuba’s homegrown Soberana 02, Soberana Plus, and Abdala (CIGB-66) vaccines had been administered nationwide.
