Valdés met with the president of the Workers’ Party, Gleisi Hoffman, whom he thanked for the unconditional solidarity of his political organization with Cuba and the Revolution and his support for the Cuban people in the battle against the blockade imposed by the United States.
In information released on Twitter by Valdés, it was also learned that he held meetings with members of the Brazilian Communist Party, who reaffirmed his support and solidarity with the Caribbean nation in its fight to lift the blockade.
The vice president also met with Carlos Siqueira, leader of the Brazilian Socialist Party, whom he thanked for his solidarity with the island.
Valdés arrived in the South American giant the day before to represent the Cuban government at Lula’s inauguration ceremony, during a ceremony in which personalities from more than a hundred countries have announced his presence.
During his stay in Brazil, Valdés held meetings with political and business leaders with the aim of strengthening and relaunching bilateral relations.
