National Ballet of Cuba performs in Panama

Havana, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) Primo ballerino Yankiel Vazquez and lead dancer Yasiel Hodelin, from the National Ballet of Cuba, performed in the Nutcracker and Clara's Magic Dream, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

During the performances at the National Theater of Panama, the leading roles were played by Panamanian prima ballerina Ana Lorena Boyd as The Sugar Fairy; while Fatima Bodden, Helleni Marin and Lucia Arosemena played Clara on December 26, 27 and 28, respectively.

Under the artistic direction of Aida Orillac, Maruja Herrera and Tita Lopez, more than 80 dancers from dance academies of Panama participated in the shows, as well as members of the European School of Ballet of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

With choreographies by Aida Orillac, Maria Herrera, Carla Lozano and Maria Jimenez, the show was for the benefit of the ProDanza Panama cultural association.
