The minister recalled that the amount of electricity sold to China this year set a historical record since the supply began two decades ago, Rossiya 24 television channel reported on Wednesday.
Shulguinov noted that the Russian power company Inter RAO, the country’s largest electricity exporter, signed a new agreement with China last year to supply 4,400 gigawatts (GWh) in 2022.
The agreement exceeded what was exported by Inter RAO to China in 2021, which was 3,800 GWh for a value of 180 million dollars.
Although Shulginov did not specify the amount agreed for next year, he said that it will be higher than anything agreed so far.
