Presidents of Russia and Cuba analyze joint projects

Moscow, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, during which both leaders discussed bilateral cooperation issues, the Kremlin reported today.

According to the Russian government, among the issues discussed by the two heads of state was collaboration in the fields of energy and industry, sectors in which there is a long-standing and highly important bilateral exchange.

Putin and Díaz-Canel also expressed the intention to comprehensively strengthen the Russian-Cuban strategic association, the statement from the government of the Eurasian nation specified.

In addition, the leaders confirmed their willingness to consistently implement the agreements reached during Díaz-Canel’s visit to Moscow from November 19 to 22, with due consideration of the proposals and wishes of the Cuban side, added the Kremlin.

As a result of the conversation, the presidents of Russia and Cuba “agreed to intensify contacts at various levels.”

During his November visit to the Russian capital, Díaz-Canel discussed the development of bilateral relations with Putin and also participated in the inauguration ceremony of a monument, in Moscow, to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
