The ministry specified that the final stage of the training was carried out on the Northern Fleet’s range out in the Barents Sea, where the ship’s crew conducted a number of tasks during several days.
The actions of the frigate crew were assessed by a competent commission of representatives of the General Navy Staff.
The operation of all the ship’s systems and mechanisms, as well as its maneuvering characteristics at various speeds, were verified during the assessment.
More than 30 Ka-27 helicopter takeoffs and landings were practiced from the ship’s flight deck while the frigate was underway.
The personnel conducted firing exercises successfully, hitting air and sea targets. In addition, the crew conducted several exercises consisting in searching, tracking and destroying submarines.
President Vladimir Putin declared, on December 21st at an extended meeting of the board of the Staff of the Ministry of Defense, that the frigate, equipped with the latest Tsirkon maritime hypersonic missile system, will enter service next January.
