At a press conference, Public Health Deputy Minister Eladio Pérez pointed out the new cholera cases are two Dominican women, 33 and 45 years old, who are now at-home screening.
“About 20 cases of diarrhea have been reported, however, 13 have been tested for cholera at the National Laboratory,” Pérez added.
Public Health Minister Daniel Rivera, on the other hand, said authorities are making efforts for the country to purchase and guarantee cholera vaccine doses, however, there is no exact date as to when vaccines may be available since world production is not enough.
