Russian senator proposes reforming UN entities

Moscow, Dec 27 (Prensa Latina) The United Nations should be a truly international and balanced organization without benefits for a single power, proposed Andrei Klimov, vice president of the Russian Senate Foreign Committee.

Klimov specified that for this it is necessary to balance participation in the UN Security Council, where there must be a place for countries such as Brazil, India and South Africa.

Also, the Secretary General of the United Nations should not come from a country that is part of military blocs as aggressive as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the Russian senator stressed.

The deputy added that the UN Secretariat also has no room for distortions in favor of hegemonic structures such as the Seven Group.

Finally, the headquarters of the international organization could be moved from New York to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, as Mongolia does not belong to any military bloc and is right in the center of Asia, a continent where five billion of the eight billion inhabitants of the planet live, so Ulaanbaatar could be a fairer venue than New York.
