As Rogov told the Vzgliad newspaper on Sunday, a deep defense line with fortified areas was created, which will stop any enemy attempt to disturb the peace of the inhabitants of the Russian region of Zaporozhye.
The Russian army has controlled over 70 percent of the Zaporozhye region practically since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.
The territory was admitted to the Russian Federation on the basis of the results of a referendum held among the locals at the end of last September where an overwhelming majority of the votes supported the accession to the Russian Federation.
The regional center, the city of Zaporozhye, however, still remains under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. Rogov noted previously that there are great hopes, not unfounded, that by 2023 the entire Zaporozhye region will also become part of Russia.
He also said that they are ready to repel the offensive of the Ukrainian troops in the province.
