The radicals of the ‘Junta for the Liberation of the Levant’, formerly al-Nousra Front, a group registered on the international terrorism list, carried out seven bombings in the past 24 hours, General Oleg Yugoro, the deputy head of the said center, located at the Hemeimim airbase in the Syrian province of Latakia, reported.

Four of the attacks were carried out in Idlib and the remaining three targeted military positions and civilian communities in the rural areas of the neighboring province of Hama.

The national Army managed during its 2020 operations to liberate 56 percent of Idlib, but the radicals still control less than half of it, where they are holding hundreds of thousands of civilians as human shields. At Damascus’ request, Russia in 2015 sent forces to Syria to help fight terrorism, which are mainly concentrated at the Hemeimim airbase in Hemeimim and the naval base in Tartous in the eastern Mediterranean.
