A 65-oil tanker caravan left the oil fields in the northeastern corner of Hasakeh province and entered Iraq by illegally crossing Mahmudia.
It was also informed that another 30 oil trucks headed to Kurdistan through the Al-Walid crossing, one of the three illegal crossings used by US troops to enter and leave Syria.
As in previous times, both caravans were escorted by U.S. and SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces).
This looting is taking place amid an unprecedented energy crisis in this country caused by the acute shortage of oil byproducts due to U.S. occupation over 90% of oil fields.
Back in 2011, Syria produced over 380,000 oil barrels before the war, but this figure dropped to just 80,000 barrels, 66,000 of which were looted by U.S troops and SDF.
