Spain’s State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC) broke the news on Friday, the Cubainformacion website and TV, directed by Jose Manzaneda, reported.
The MESC prepared the first container in Valencia for Pinar del Rio, which was severely hit by Hurricane Ian in September.
These initiatives are part of the agreements reached at the 16th Cuba Solidarity Meeting, held in Puerto de Sagunto, Valencia, in October, to support Cuba’s recovery from the damage caused by the weather phenomenon.
Associations from Madrid, Catalonia, Euskadi, Andalusia, and Valencia raised over 34,000 euros and prioritized the purchase of 700 mattresses and other items that will be loaded in a 40-feet container, arranged with the support of the Cuban Embassy in Spain.
The donation will leave from the Port of Valencia on Monday and was completed with other items from the Jose Marti Cuban Friendship Association, based in Valencia.
Solidarity activists and staff of the Cuban Embassy in Spain participated in the loading of the container and seized the opportunity to recall the need to denounce and lift the United States blockade.
