In the context of Beirut´s Economic Forum, the Union of Arab Chambers and the Regional Organization for Agricultural Development signed a memorandum of understanding in favor of food security and the growth of the sector in Lebanon.
Abbas Hajj Hassan, Minister of Agriculture in the Lebanese interim government, highlighted the cooperation and efforts of the bloc in order to launch the work and the different programs of the Arab Office for Entrepreneurship in the country.
In accordance to what have been said, the Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, highlighted the proposals for climate projects in the Arab world and the various plans to be implemented in 2023 and in the following years.
The information minister, Ziad Al-Makari, highlighted the need of finding immigration solutions and the Syrian displacement file during a session addressing diaspora.
The general secretary of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, added that, the majority of Lebanese struggle not to fall into the abyss of poverty. The average unemployment touches 30 percent, meanwhile, economic difficulties push the best minds to emigrate elsewhere in search of opportunities.
Regarding the worsening of the crisis, the official also said that Lebanon needs the confidence of investors and supporters in the region and abroad, as well as its own people in the government and of the political leaders, all determined to follow the path of reform.
