On the podium of waste, Spain follows with 235 million tons of wasted food and Gwrmany, whihc wasted 230 million tons.
Italy holds the absolute record in the waste of fruit and vegetables. While on cereals, with one million tons of average yearly waste, Italy is second after Germany, which throws away about double that.
Italy is also second, after Spain, in terms of waste of oil crops, and is third (after Germany and France) for the wate of dairy products and eggs (800,000 and 188,000 tons). An then again it is third, after aSpain and France, for the wate of fish (400,000 tons) and sugar beet (280,000 tons).
