Senate President Andronico Rodriguez warned on Wednesday that the top official of the Santa Cruz department will be subpoenaed, and if he refuses again to provide a report, a process for breach of duties will be filed.
The announcement was immediately backed on social media by members of the Justice Promotion Committee who have permanently fought against the impunity enjoyed by those who promoted and perpetrated the coup in November 2019, as well as those who promoted the destabilization of the government such as the Pro Santa Cruz Civic Committee.
When addressing this matter, the deputy from the Movement Towards Socialist-Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of the Peoples (MAS-IPSP), Patricio Mendoza, urged the governor to answer for the violent measures that lasted 36 days in that eastern department.
The Santa Cruz lawmaker recalled that there are dozens of complaints of abuse and attacks and injured people due to the barricades set up in the blocking points with barbed wires, cables, and earthen promontories.
He slammed Camacho for using the excuse that he is a victim of political persecution.
“We do not want to harm anybody, Rodriguez said. This is not a political matter, but we can see the facts, reality. If someone is asking for a report, he must answer to the people.”
