Since 2018, Aleppo´s historic markets, declared a World Heritage Site in 1986, have been undergoing a hard reconstruction process after damage caused by terrorism, and to date the Khan al-Harir, al-Habbal, Ahmadiya souks and Fustuk Square restoration has been completed.
According to Ahmed Al-Shihabi, Director of old Aleppo Department, work is underway to restore splendor and life to the al-Saqatiya market, which includes 53 stores.
On the other hand, hospitals and public health centers -severely damaged by terrorist attacks- were renovated and reopened to receive citizens and provide free treatment for them.
Aleppo Health Director Ziad Al-Haj Taha explained that over 80 clinics and medical centers have been built in 2022; meanwhile, the industrial sector has remarkably grown despite difficult circumstances caused by coercive economic measures imposed on the country.
In the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar alone, 90 industrial plants have resumed production this year, according to the director of this complex Hazem Ajan.
Moreover, 1,150 power plants have been installed out of the 4,000 ones ravaged by terrorists.
