Donetsk authorities ask to strengthen air defense

Moscow, Dec 21 (Prensa Latina) The interim head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denís Pushilin, asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to increase the anti-aircraft defense in the republic, the Kremlin reported.

During his working meeting in Moscow, Pushilin mentioned the Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk cities and said that although the Russian Defense Forces are doing their best, it is necessary to increase the air defense of the region, Sputnik news agency reported on Wednesday.

Pushilin informed that 21 people died and 94 were injured between the 2nd and the 18th of December and in the city of Donetsk alone 460 houses were damaged .

Pushilin also mentioned, among other things, the problems of water supply in the region, where big cities have water for two hours every three days.

Following the events with UKRAINE, Putin commented that foreign medias and human rights organizations remain silent in the face of the shelling of residential neighborhoods in Donetsk by Ukrainian troops.

He described the security situation in the city as “serious” and assured Pushilin that they will address this matter separately.

President Putin also held another meeting with the interim head of Lugansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, with whom he addressed affairs of security, economy, health, and t social sphere.
