The officer offered an interview to Krasnaya Zvezda on Friday, during which he recalled that Moscow notifies Washington of launches at least one day in advance, disclosing the scheduled launch date, the place of its execution and the area where the warheads will fall.
He also noted that Russia’s four ICBM launches in 2022 “confirmed the high reliability of the missile systems.”
Among them was the successful launch of the new RS-28 Sarmat ICBM from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, the officer recalled.
Karakaev further reported that in 2023, Russia will start developing an advanced mobile missile system much more advanced than the ground-based RS-24 Yars system.
Karakaev also added that the country’s rocket troops will be able to deploy operationally this new missile system to launch from any part of the national territory.
He also recalled that the rearmament of Russian troops with new systems is one of the key elements that will increase the capabilities of the Strategic Missile Troops so that they can fulfill their tasks in any environment.
This process will be followed by the improvement of the characteristics of the missiles and their launcher vehicles, especially the capabilities to overcome existing and future anti-aircraft defense systems.
