The Cuban ambassador to Ecuador Basilio Gutiérrez and Ren Hongbin, representative of China´s Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), signed the document on Wednesday.
According to Gutiérrez, the 2023 Plan corresponds “with friendship that unites our peoples and governments”.
During the Summit, Cuba praised the significance of this event which constitutes a bridge for cooperation.
Milena Pérez, Event Director of Cuba´s Chamber of Commerce, referred to changes implemented in Cuba in economic and social matters including stimulus to the non-state sector development and foreign investment in wholesale and retail trade.
She also highlighted Cuban progress in biotechnology and mentioned the Cuban scientists´ efforts in developing three homegrown vaccines and two vaccine candidates to treat Covid-19, thanks to the experience in preventive medicine, mass immunization and the country´s biopharmaceutical industry development.
Finally, she reiterated Cuba´s willingness to expand its trade relations with China as well as with other Asian nations.
