India’s sherpa, or high-level representative, Amitabh Kant, said New Delhi’s vision for the G20 meeting in Mumbai, the country’s financial center and largest city, will be to share the story of the Sustainable Development Goals focused on human being and citizen-centered governance.
During the meeting, slated for the last three days, India will focus on the usage of the power of digital technology and data as key enablers.
Another of the objectives will be the reinforcing of works on climate agenda, taking advantage of its interrelationships with development through lifestyle towards the environment.
The first G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies meeting in Bengaluru will lead the discussions on the Financial Track agenda under India’s Presidency.
The meeting is jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India.
Debates include reorienting international financial institutions to meet global challenges, financing the cities of tomorrow, managing global debt vulnerabilities, promoting financial inclusion and productivity gains, financing climate action and sustainable development goals.
