According to the official Twitter account of the Lebanese government, Miqati will attend the summit owing to the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who highlighted the positive impact of the meeting for the countries of the region and the world.
Upon his arrival, the head of the Lebanese cabinet was received by the deputy governor of Riyadh, Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Saud; in addition to the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Beirut, Walid Al-Bukhari, and by the Kingdom´s representative, Fawzi Kabbara.
Miqati traveled accompanied by foreign minister Abdullah Bou Habib and the minister of Finance Youssef Al-Khalil and of Industry George Boushikian.
The official Lebanese delegation is integrated by former Minister Nicolas Nahas, the ambassador to Egypt and to the Arab League, Ali Al-Halabi, and the head of the diplomatic mission in the People’s Republic of China, Melia Jabbour.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will head the first summit between China and the Arab nations in the coming hours.
According to Jamal Rushdi, spokesman for the General Secretary of the Arab League, the convoking of this summit comes in light of what was agreed during the ninth session of the ministerial meeting of the Forum for Arab-China Cooperation and will contribute to the enhancement of strategic relations between Beijing and the region.
