The artist was also acclaimed for her performances in the film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), as well as in the series Veronica’s Closet (1997) and Cheers (1987 to 1993), the latter for which she won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for her leading role.
Born in Kansas, Alley made her debut in 1982, when she played Officer Saavik in the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and two years later she also starred in films Another Chance, Challenge to Destiny, Blind Date and Out of Control.
With a 40-year career, Alley was part of dozens of films such as Summer School (1987), Loverboy (1989), Sibling Rivalry (1990), For Richer or Poorer (1997) and Back by Midnight (2002).
A six-time Golden Globe Award nominee and winner of the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV series Cheers (1991), Alley also won two Emmy Awards, one for Cheers and the other for the series David’s Mother (1994).
