China´s National Health Commission reported the two deaths in the provinces of Shandong and Sichuan, while mentioning Beijing, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Chongqing among Omicron most-hit regions.
After reporting these statistics, China reaches at least 30,480 deaths and 9,155,969 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic in December 2019.
Plus, China has reported 391,42 asymptomatic people under medical treatment. However, more and more regions of the country, including those most affected by the fresh wave, eased some sanitary measures and simplify the scope of others to reduce the impact of their implementation on socio-economic life.
Many regions quitted requiring negative PCR test results to take public transportation, buy antipyretics, antibiotics and painkillers, and will no longer call for the elderly, students and workers who stay at home.
These regions also began to reopen more businesses and shopping centers, while the Chinese government will start a nationwide vaccination campaign especially for the elderly and other vulnerable groups.
