Speaking at the meeting, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría said his country avails itself of this opportunity to urge for migration non-commercialization and non-politicization of international bodies in this regard.

Faría stressed the Bolivarian Government will contribute to strengthening of the International Organization, implementation of policies and better agreements in favor of migrants.

The Venezuelan Minister pointed out that in compliance with reaffirmed constitutional obligations, laws and international treaties, Venezuela promotes, as part of its policy, an approach to deal with migration issues.

We hope to count on the Cooperation and Technical Assistance of the International Organization for Migration, to support us in strengthening our internal and consular capacities and to constructively assist Venezuelan migrants, especially in the safe and orderly return, Faría stressed.
