Baptiste, who is also the chairman of CARICOM’s Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED), expressed confidence in the region’s ability to overcome challenges within the resource constraints.
Given the region faces major macroeconomic challenges, it must respond head-on within the framework of an integrated world, Baptiste added.
After opening the 55th COTED meeting on Monday, CARICOM Secretary-General Carla Barnett stated that the collective drive to deepen and strengthen integration assumes greater urgency in the light of multiple challenges.
