As part of the government´ strategy, there will be a financial investigation and intelligence system for tracking, detecting and defeating money and assets laundering by transnational and national organized crime, the Executive reported.
On Thursday, President Xiomara Castro ordered the Armed Forces and the military police to carry out controls and surveillance at land, air and sea borders.
“The Honduran people are aware of the commitment of the Armed Forces to cooperate with this strategy for national security,” the President commented.
During an act at the presidential palace for the launch of the comprehensive plan for the treatment of extortion and related crimes presented by the National Police, Castro ordered controlling the sale of chips for cell phones.
She also directed the National Banking and Insurance Commission to establish the necessary measures so that all economic transactions in the different modalities are made through the identification of the person responsible.
With the aim of dealing with the criminal groups causing an increase in crimes in the country, the President declared this Thursday a national emergency in terms of security.
