Fernando Gonzalez LLort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), made the remarks during the Hanoi Peace Conference, in which he also stressed the need to strengthen unity based on respect for diversity. Threats to peace are more pulsing than ever at a time when there is also a growing presence of fascist thought, which is making its way in different regions of Europe and America, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba told Prensa Latina.
“today we recall in this meeting the sixth anniversary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro’s death and his anti-imperialist legacy, which we continue with the firm conviction that socialism is the only possible alternative to preserve the human species”, the ICAP president stated.
Addressing those present at the forum, all attending the 22nd Assembly of the World Peace Council (WPC), Gonzalez Llort insisted on confronting unconventional warfare that sanctions with unilateral lists “such as the immoral, illegal, and absurd Cuba’s inclusion as a country that sponsors terrorism.”
In this sense, he quoted the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, when he said that Cuba has had the opportunity to experience the solidarity of the peoples, which is why this word is full of meaning for its nationals.
Before the ICAP president participated in the Hanoi Peace Conference, he attended the 22nd Assembly of the WPC, where Cuba was re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee, the Secretariat, and the coordinator of the movement for the Americas.
