After the peace agreement between the Government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), preparations began to resume flights with that state, as explained by the company´s official website.
One of the points of the pact with the TPLF signed in Pretoria, South Africa, is to guarantee full access to the region so as to facilitate humanitarian aid to settlers and family reunification.
The notice from the airline recalls that “there were several daily flights to that region before the armed conflict” but it does not specify when they will be resumed, neither about the departures or schedules.
It explains, however, that Mekelle and Shire Airports in the Tigray region are in good condition to accommodate passengers with stability.
