Cuba´s Deputy Public Health Minister Tania Margarita Cruz, who led the Cuban delegation, said this was a perfect setting to explain her country’s vaccination strategy by applying homegrown vaccines to fight off the pandemic.
“We are presently attending a virtual meeting of CELAC´s health ministers, where we shared our own experiences in confronting Covid-19, both domestically and internationally, and also Cuba´s Covid-19 vaccination strategy,” Cruz posted on Twitter.
She also added that her delegation appreciated the efforts made by the Network of Specialists in Infectious Agents and Emerging and Re-emerging Diseases, while stressing their recommendations contribute to strengthening Latin American and Caribbean nations´ health systems.
Cruz also tweeted Cuba’s support for the declaration issued at the CELAC meeting in favor of collaboration among regional nations for greater access to medicines and vaccines.
“We reaffirm our commitment to continue doing our best for global health,” she live-tweeted.
