Phuong Nga made the statement when receiving Fernando Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP.
Manifold issues were debated during the friendly meeting, in which Nga congratulated Cuba for its struggle against the U.S. blockade and the Covid-19 pandemic control, as well as reaffirmed her confidence that even amid such adverse circumstances Cuba will win.
In this regard, Gonzalez stressed that in that predictable victory Vietnam´s lessons will be present: from its tireless struggle and heroic resistance to achieve its own independence to the achievements this Indochinese nation portrays nowadays in its socio-economic progress.
Gonzalez, also Hero of the Republic of Cuba, reiterated Cuba´s gratitude to Vietnam, its people and organizations for all assistance and solidarity spontaneously and sincerely provided, especially amid the most critical circumstances Cuba went through.
The ICAP president also commented on the complex situation of the Cuban economy and the impact of the tightened economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States, a White House´s nonstop effort to stifle Cuba´s economy.
