UK sets to boost Ukraine’s air defenses after drone attacks

RU-Ucrania
London, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Saturday announced the UK will strengthen Ukraine's anti-aircraft defense by sending 125 cannons and up-to-date technology to counter unmanned drone attacks.

The new £50 million ($59 million) military aid package was announced by Sunak during a surprise visit to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky.

The new anti-aircraft rockets are in addition to the 1,000 announced by British Defense Minister Ben Wallace earlier this month.

The UK has become the second largest arms supplier to Ukraine since Russia launched on February 24 what President Vladimir Putin called a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify the neighboring country.

Then, Russian president stated that the deployment of Russian troops in Ukraine was in response to a call for help made by the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to repel aggressions and bombardments by the Ukrainian armed forces.
