According to the Tribuna de La Habana newspaper, the political-cultural activity paid tribute to those who also collaborate with works being conducted in Havana´s vulnerable hoods.
In his opening speech, Havana Gov. Reinaldo García talked about care provided to certain local communities due to their social complexities, a program that has come to stay and to boost locals´ quality of life.
García stressed that Moro-Portocarrero is among 129 hoods where local authorities make their best to boost separate services including road infrastructure, water service, parks, schools, warehouses, clinics, among others, while stating they still have much to do.
Local authorities also granted new homes and paid a visit to the new Family Assistance System (SAF) infrastructure, a work that will be completed in coming few days and providing service to a total of 70 diners.
Likewise, 2,400 people will benefit from a brand-new butcher’s shop, grocery store, bakery and a new Community Pharmacy.
