At the groundbreaking ceremony, Luis Alberto González, company’s president, stressed the brand-new plant will be a major investment project to contribute to Cuba´s domestic industry, through the creation of more than 400 jobs.
González added the installation of the most advanced and recognized technologies in the sector will allow reaching a production capacity of 7,000 tons of meat products per month.
Richmeat de Cuba S.A., a subsidiary firm of a Mexican company, currently has over 170 employees and has gradually increased its production to 3,000 tons per month.
González said that after more than two years, an impressive reality is currently consolidated thanks to the joint effort of collaborators, the support of clients, the authorities and “above all, the trust of Cuba, which has led us this far”.
Richmeat Vice President Alejandra Chapela assured that the company will continue working to be a leading reference in the national market, quality and operating performance.
