Palestine asks for help against systematic attacks by Israeli settler

cancilleria-palestina
Ramallah, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian government called on the international community to pressure Israel into dismantling the settler militias, which carry out systematic attacks in the occupied territories.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed in a statement that these incursions are carried out under the protection of the Army in a clear distribution of roles to achieve the colonial objectives of Israel.

The statement denounced that the strategy seeks to further repress the Palestinians, impose more collective punishment and restrictions on them in an attempt to break their hold on their land to make it easier on the Jewish settlers to take control over it.

The Foreign Ministry held the Israeli government and its various institutions “fully and directly responsible for the repeated attacks against our people.”

Earlier this year, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories (B’Tselem) claimed that settler violence against Palestinians is yet another method Tel Aviv uses to control the West Bank.

Jewish Settlers carry out a variety of acts including physical assaults, stone throwing, threats and harassment, damage to trees and crops, vandalism of cars, blocking roads and even firing live ammunition, B’Tselem noted.

The Israeli authorities, including the military and the law enforcement system, are fully aware of this reality, but allow and support such violence and then enjoy the result, he said.
