Caracas, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Wednesday congratulated his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for the 503rd anniversary of the city of Havana.

On his Twitter account, the head of State wrote that “from the Bolivarian Homeland of (Hugo) Chávez, we salute the brother president @DiazCanelB and the people of Havana.” Congratulations!

The Cuban capital, founded November 16, 1519, is considered among the oldest cities in the Americas, and among the titles that distinguish it is the one granted to its Historic Heart in 1982, when it was designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

In 2016, it also deserved the title of Wonder City of the Modern World.

On Wednesday, national and foreign figures celebrated the founding date of Havana, including Cuban National Assembly President Esteban Lazo, who tweeted, “Congratulations, Havana! Real and wonderful, full of culture and tradition!”
