Gonzalez Llort, who is also the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), arrived in Vientiane on Tuesday evening to fulfill an intense program of meetings and visits until November 18.
Sommad Pholsena, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, warmly welcomed Gonzalez Llort on Tuesday. Pholsena said he is honored with the visit of one of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters.
Gonzalez Llort’s agenda today includes meetings with Chaleun Yiapaoher, president of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association and Vice President of Parliament, and Monexay Laomoaxong, First Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) Central Committee.
Later, ICAP´s president will give a speech to the leaders of the LPRYU in ministries, grass-roots organizations, and structures of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP).
Gonzalez Llort, and his delegation, will be received on Thursday by Thongsavanah Phomvihane, head of the LPRP External Relations Committee, and later by Chanpheng Southivong, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Development (LFND).
The Cuban hero will travel to Vietnam on Thursday evening for a working visit and to participate in the General Assembly of the World Peace Council.
