According to Iván Acosta, Minister of Finance and Public Credit of Nicaragua, 141 million pounds of such products were sent abroad, especially shrimps, between January and October 2022.
In a recent meeting of the National System for Production, Consumption and Commerce, Acosta emphasized that farmed shrimps is the highest export rate.
The minister stated that, in the mentioned period, 55.3 million pounds of shrimps were commercialized, which generated exports estimated at 138 million dollars.
According to the minister, Nicaragua’s overall exports amounted to 6 billion 621 million dollars, up to October, with agricultural exports accounting for 41 percent of the total.
