New group of Venezuelan migrants returns from Peru

Venezuela-retorno-Peru-300x199
Caracas, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) A total of 209 Venezuelans returned home from Peru as part of the Return to the Homeland Plan, which has allowed more than 30,000 Venezuelans from 25 countries to return, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Thursday.

With this new group, 8,991 people, who took advantage of this opportunity given by the Government of President Nicolás Maduro for family reunification, have been repatriated from Peru, the Foreign Ministry stated.

Venezuelan Consul in Peru Vivian Alvarado praised this humanitarian bridge built since 2018, which allows national migrants in vulnerable situations to return home.

More than 60 children and a dozen teenagers traveled to Venezuela in this group to undertake their future and contribute to the construction of the Homeland, the source noted.

The Foreign Ministry added that Venezuelan migration is a direct consequence of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and its allies against this South American nation.
