A Boeing B737-400 airplane of Turpial Airlines reopened the route between the two capitals from the Simon Bolivar international airport, Maiquetia, state of La Guaira, Venezuela.
Venezuelan Minister for Transportation Ramon Velazquez said that at the instruction of President Nicolas Maduro “commercial air operations with the Republic of Colombia were resumed today.”
We are “happy to connect with this sister country. Following the path of brotherhood and peace of our Liberator Simon Bolivar”, he pointed out.
Turpial Airlines President Pedro Cestari told reporters about the restart of air operations between the two countries and stressed that they had been suspended for “nearly five years.”
