The statements were made by Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with the president of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Csaba Korosi.
Wang Yi indicated that China will work with parties involved in guaranteeing a good result during the second part of the COP15 conference on biodiversity, scheduled to be held next December.
He mentioned China’s emphasis on human-nature friendly coexistence and green, sustainable and low-carbon development, while advancing its modernization plans.
He reassured the willingness to cooperate and expand exchanges on issues such as the preservation of water resources, defense of multilateralism and the search for solutions to common challenges.
However, the official rejected actions such as decoupling, breaking supply chains and barriers in the commercial sphere, urged respect for the development path chosen by each country and called for the building of an open global economy.
