Medvedev published a post on Telegram under the title “Why our cause is just” and wrote that “Russia is a huge and rich country. We do not need foreign territories, we have everything in abundance. But there is our land, which is sacred to us, on which our ancestors lived and on which our people live to this day. And which we will not give up to anyone. We are protecting our people. We are fighting for all our people, for our land, for our thousand-years history.”
“We are fighting against those who hate us, who ban our language, our values and even our faith, who spread hatred on the history of our Motherland.”
Referring to Russia’s former “allies”, he stated that “We were abandoned by some frightened “partners”, and good riddance. That means they were not our friends, but just random fellow travelers, sticky and hangers-on.”
Medvedev expressed confidence that Russia will certainly win in this conflict and congratulated all on the holiday.
