Cuba’s victory against blockade at UN attributed to Fidel Castro

Fidel-ONU-1960
Caracas, Nov 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Ambassador to Venezuela Dagoberto Rodríguez asigned the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, the victory achieved by the island at the United Nations when the vast majority of countries rejected the blockade.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, after voting in favor of the resolution Havana presented against the hostile policy, the diplomat stated that this is the result of the work of the Revolution, and of Fidel Castro, which we cannot forget at this moment.

That friendship, of “such special relations of Cuba with the world and the world with Cuba,” is the work of the Commander-in-Chief, who developed it like no one else so that we could achieve those results.

On Thursday, 185 nations voted in favor of the Cuban resolution, two members (the United States and Israel) voted against it, and two abstained (Ukraine and Brazil).

As we expected, the Cuban ambassador said, the world forcefully expressed once again its rejection to the blockade, “the cruelty of the empire against our country.”

He pointed out that what happened at the United Nations is a demonstration not only that the island is not alone but also that Washington has to stop “this madness, the way it treats Cuba and the world”; this is a powerful message from the international community, he stated.
