Activists quoted by local media reported that armed elements of the referred group raided at least 60 apartments in al-Hilaliya neighborhood and forcibly removed their inhabitants even though they showed their ownership documents.
It is not the first time this illegal armed group has seized homes or headquarters of governmental and educational institutions, as it has repeatedly done so to keep the inhabitants away from the bases of the US forces in the area, they said.
Hundreds of residents showed indignation and protested the actions conducted by the SDF, which they described as servile to the United States.
The said militia had previously taken over 2,000 schools by force in the areas under its control in northern and northeastern Syria, an action that caused the fury of residents who prefer to send their children to the centers that teach the Ministry of Education’s curricula.
The SDF occupied large areas of the Syrian region of al-Jazira, covered parts of Deir Ezzor, Hasakeh, and Raqa provinces, and some areas in northeastern Aleppo, where they increased their separatist and criminal practices taking advantage of the support they received from the US administration.
