Nicaragua is in final stage of municipal elections

Managua, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua on Thursday moves to the final stage of the November 6 municipal elections when mayors, deputy mayors, and councilors will be elected in the country's 153 municipalities.

Only three days before those elections, the fourth of that category since the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) returned to power in 2007, candidates of “Alianza Unida Nicaragua Triunfa” highlighted the support of the people to the social projects developed by the municipalities.

In a recent local television program, Managua mayor Reyna Rueda referred to the support of such an alliance due to the achievements reached in different sectors in the last years.

Nicaragua has been promoting social projects through the municipalities for years, such as the Bismarck Martinez housing and lot program, streets for the people, roads, hospitals, maternity homes, child development centers, schools, and water and sanitation projects, among others.

Sources consulted by Prensa Latina pointed out that these achievements are only possible thanks to the Sandinista Government, whose social projects ensure dignity, progress, and restitution of the rights of the people, especially those in need.

According to the voters’ register, 3,106 polling stations are being set up here for Sunday’s polls, where nearly four million people must vote to elect more than 6,000 public posts across the nation.
